1872-3 Wadsworth & Unwin: Plans of Ordnance Lands . . . Proposed to be Purchased by the G.W. Ry. Company

Plan 'A' of the area at the northeast corner of Fort York shows the bridge at the foot of Bathurst Street over the rail lines entering the city. It shows also the course of Garrison Creek before it was channeled into sluices and pipes; some of the stables for the fort's horses; and the Great Western Railway's buildings in the more darkly-shaded area on Walkem's plan of 1856. Clearly, the GWR was crowded and buying even a small parcel of 1.34 acres like this made sense, if it was available.

Plan 'B' is for a second parcel of 1.17 acres north of Fort York and just west of the lands in Plan 'A.'
