This 'demonstration' plan incorporates a variety of best long-term proposals for the Fort York National Historic Site and its wider precinct, though not all ideas have been fully formed and approved yet. The pedestrian and cycling bridges across the rail corridors are still in the planning stages while the greening of [The] Gore Park outside the Princes' Gates is likely some years off. But the Visitor Centre, shown on the plan as a long, amber-coloured structure near the Armoury, is under construction. And June Callwood Park, providing a visual link between the fort's southwest bastion, Fleet Street and Lakeshore Blvd., opened October 4, 2014.
