2003 Toronto Works & Emergency Services: Fort York National Historic Site

The bounds of the Fort York National Historic Site were approved by the Government of Canada in 2003 after being defined more loosely for decades.  It contains 41 acres (16.6 ha.) inside and outside the Old Fort, and a further 2 acres in Victoria Memorial Square at Niagara and Portland Streets. The main portion of the site coincides with the Heritage Conservation District, as designated by Toronto City Council, and with the Registered Archaeological Site recognized by the Ontario Minister of Culture.
